FTE: Part-Time (.5 FTE) Staff : 20-24 hours/week
Hourly Non-Exempt Staff Position

Salary Range: $25-$30/hr, depending on experience. Includes paid time off including federal holidays and vacation. This position may be eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Location: We are accepting and prioritizing submissions from candidates located in Oregon, Washington and New York. Candidates located in Oregon are preferred due to the proximity to the Executive Director. Other candidates located in the US are welcome to apply. All of our staff work remotely.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Coordinator position will be critical to ensuring the continued growth of Good Meat Project programs and achievement of long-term strategic goals. The Development Coordinator will support a diverse range of fundraising activities including: managing our donor database, coordinating correspondence and donor relations, assisting in the execution of special events and major donor cultivation events, coordinating specific communications, and providing funding related administrative support for the Executive Director. This position is an hourly non-exempt, remote staff position.

This position will begin no later than September 1, 2024.

Responsibilities

The Development Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director, and will work closely with other GMP staff as needed to execute fundraising activities.

Primary Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Coordinate database and records management of current and prospective funders

  • Document donor interactions, correspondence and gifts/grants

  • Provide support with grant lifecycle administration including: application submissions and deadlines, development database management, tracking, and reporting of grant awards

  • Provide fundraising reports and donor/prospect research as requested

  • Manage fundraising progress towards monthly and annual goals

  • Assist the team in all development-related events

  • Communicate quarterly with constituents and supporters

  • Assist the team as needed to strategize and execute fundraising initiatives for specific programs, events or projects

  • Oversee gift acknowledgment process including gift entry for all contributions, creation of acknowledgment letters, thank you letters, and tax receipts for donors

  • Assist with the production of annual appeals (segmented direct mail, digital appeals, and all associated collateral)

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Enthusiasm for the Good Meat Project’s mission and vision
  • Three to five years of experience with nonprofit development and fundraising strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively with diverse demographics
  • Demonstrated ability to write effective fundraising appeals and campaign materials
  • Database acumen, including Content Management Systems, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Ability to utilize relevant visualization and storytelling technology and tools
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Capacity to manage workflow independently and willingness to ask for support when needed
  • Willingness and ability to learn new software systems (e.g., software/CRM/payment system portal)
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
  • College degree or equivalent professional experience

  • Some competency in effective online marketing and conversion metrics

  • Previous meat or food or meat industry (farming, butchery, etc.) experience a plus

  • The ability to travel (some weekends) 5% of the time, at least once per year. Travel expenses for GMP related work will be reimbursed.
