Guided Rock Farms is a first generation farm raising livestock and crops. We heavily integrate animals into our cropping systems as a source of fertility and for weed control. Although we raise several species of livestock, our centerpiece enterprise is the Navajo Churro sheep and the products they provide. Navajo Churro are the oldest breed of domestic sheep in the US, historically providing the Navajo Nation with meat and fiber. Their numbers once dwindled to an estimated 450 sheep due to a couple episodes of government enforcements. The breed has been in restoration since the 1970s.
